Malaysia Proof Coin 1972 Kuala Lumpur City

Today would like to introduce a rare proof coin from Malaysia 1972 Kuala Lumpur City.
The specification for this coin

Mintage : 500 only
Weight : 16.5g
Diameter : 33.30mm
Thickness : 2.55mm

According to my sifu , Indeed rare coin to obtain sometime Auction In Singapore do offer for collectors to bid.

I bought this coin long long ago but recently send for NGC to grade came back with PF63 ULTRA CAMEO as below:-

Malaysia Wallet sets 1967
The Malaysia Wallet sets 1967 consists of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 sen denominations issued on 12 June 1967. After I sorted out all my coins, I was aghast to find 2 versions in my collection. One of which in English and the other one is in Malay. The total mintage is 10,000 yet we seldom see them in the coin market.

In the year 1969, although with a large mintage of 15,000,000, it is surprisingly difficult to locate a UNC/ BU condition coin .

In the year 1978, with the rank of the second lowest mintage of 6,847,062 . It is indeed tough to locate a UNC/BU condition coin. According to one of my shifu(master), this coin is the most difficult to obtain in the condition of a BU/UNC.

In the year 1970, the lowest mintage of 1,054,000 but surprisingly it is far more easier to obtain in the UNC/BU condition compared to the years of 1969 and 1978. According to my experience, I sorted out more than an equavilent of RM2000 in 20 sen denomination, while the 1970 circulated coins are so rare that I can't even find one, till today.

Today would like touch on dot series Parliament coin. According to my understanding Malaysia Parliament series minted from 1967 to 1988 the denomination is 1sen , 10 sen , 20 sen , 50 sen and 1 Ringgit.

Among the 3 coin that I listed above , 1982 dot 5 sen is the most difficult to find and demand the most premium price. 
Malaysia Rare 1971 RM5 PROOF coin

Malaysia 1971 Commemorative RM5 proof coin obverse Malaysia First Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah  (8-2-1903 to 6-12-1990). The mintage of this coin is 500 and the weight 29.03g with diameter 38mm thickness 3.2mm is a large size proof coin.

A very rare sighting for a coin collector, extremely valuable and is marketed at a very high price at the current moment. The coin is so finely minted, and it outshines with radiance. Proof coin is of a different treatment than the usual and more common ones.

 

 

Malaysia 1967 First series PROOF coins set of 5

The mintage of this coin set is 500 which consists of 5 denomination 1 sen , 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and
50 sen. This coin set is impeccable and one of the rarest coin sets from Malaysia (ever known).  It is most certainly the dream of every coin collectors to have in possession. The price of this set is exorbitant, and costs a bomb now a days. This coin set is launched on 12th June 1967, which had a history of 47 years, with a history more than myself. My only comment is: THUMBS UP. This supreme set is, no doubt, one of my precious babies. It is one of my huge, gargantuan collection of coin sets of Malaysia Coinage. MALAYSIA BOLEH!

Malaysia 1976 1 sen Bronze/Copper
Today I would like to share my rare 1976 1 sen bronze / copper which I bought from a friend of mine who is a collector himself.
I took quite a long time to decide whether to keep it as the price of it was not cheap but still considered reasonable. He felt it was not worthy to keep but I felt the opposite. (He quoted, "No matter how good a condition you keep the copper coin in,  it still will degrade by itself, after keeping for a long period of time!")
I felt that the coin deserved a slab so I sent it to NGC 3rd party grading company to grade the coin. The results came back made me really satisfied. What do you think is the result of the grading? Let me tell you, it was...  MS66 RB .


Malaysia First Series Coin

Currently Malaysia First Series Coin or more well known as Parliament Series realized very high price in recent well known auction house in Singapore. Many collectors start to collect those UNC and BU grade independently of years and nomination. Current demand on this coin is rapidly increase as the result of the auction house realized result. The First Series Malaysia coin consists of 1sen,5sen,10sen,20sen,50sen and 1 Ringgit year mintage from 1967 to 1988. The 1 ringgit parliament series ended earlier 1986. In the Singapore Collector Auction Asia 2 /2013 on 18 Oct 2013 one of the most wanted item from Malaysia coin collector realized S$3400 which score a record high in realized price is Malaysia 50 sen coin milled age graded AU55 (NGC).

Note : *Malaysia 50 sen 1969 Freak without security edge graded NGC Au-55 realized S$3400 excluding buyer premium 18%.
